Radio Advertising

Radio advertising is a form of advertising in which a business will create an audio advert that is played in the breaks during radio broadcasts and which dates back to 1922. Depending on which radio station a radio advert is played on will depend on the business that is being advertised.

For example a national company would advertise on a national station whereas a local smaller business will opt to advertise on a local radio station that has listeners that fit the profile of the businesses target audience. Most radio stations will make their revenue by selling adverting time and this can lead to significant profits for many stations.
