New Reviews Section

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

Behind the scenes we’ve been putting together a business review section, covering reviews of popular services which those who run an online business may consider using. We’ve covered 5 different companies initially:

  • Wordtracker - possibly the most widely known keyword research tool on the internet, allowing you to identify keywords worth targeting in your SEO or PPC campaigns.
  • GetaFreelancer - small businesses frequently hire freelancers to undertake projects, whether it’s marketing, website design or copyrighting. This is a review of one of the most popular sites which matches businesses with freelancers.
  • SEO Book - if you’re looking to learn about search engine optimisation then you’re likely to consider joining the SEO Book Training Program.
  • Template Monster - a site which offers an incredible number of website and blog templates for sale.
  • Keyword Spy - a tool which allows you to undertake a comprehensive analysis of your competitors’ PPC campaigns.

Check back frequently - over the coming months we’ll be gradually expanding the number of business reviews.

Introducing the Marketing Minefield Blog

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Well, first things first, welcome to the Marketing Minefield blog. As a marketing and advertising resource it was time to introduce a blog to compliment the rest of the site – a place to discuss the latest marketing developments and present some of the best articles and resources available online.

Blogging is certainly big. Technorati currently tracks 112.8 million blogs and recent studies have suggested that up to 60% of internet users in the US regularly read blogs. A similar number is likely in the UK.

All blogs should have a purpose and this one is no different. There are plenty of places where you can keep up-to-date with the latest advertising news or online marketing developments. Therefore instead the aim is to focus on providing added value to what’s out there, specifically:

  • Highlight the latest marketing news that matters
  • Offer opinions and insights on marketing developments
  • Highlight insightful articles, not just those written by us
  • Add a conversational element to the site, somewhere where our users can contribute

Keep stopping back regularly – we’ll be writing new posts regularly. In the meantime you can check out the top 100 blogs to help you make money online.
